Chris Belden braids together stand-alone stories with candid wit, creating an intricate landscape of the human heart. From the comedy of a violent public kiss to a woman’s floating heartache and hope after a broken marriage, THE FLOATING LADY breathes life into the “algae-pocked” Lake Tawaba.
Naomi Richter –
Very nice bite-sized stories with a broad range of tones, concerning a spectrum of interesting characters who vary in age and background. All are tied together through their affiliation with the neighborhood surrounding Lake Tawaba. As you move through the story, you pick up tid-bits here and there that further illuminate the nature of goings on in the neighborhood. Very enjoyable read.
